Pearl Jam's "Lightning Bolt" Continues Road to Average

Pearl Jam's new album entitled "Lightning Bolt" was released on July 11 of this year.  My reaction was one of a little worried what the sound of the album would be since their last album "Backspacer" wasn't as interesting as what came before I was worried they might continue down the same road to average. I was worried the album would be polished to the point where it's unoriginal.  Sadly this was my reaction to the songs of "Lighting Bolt" which were either, an extension of Eddie Vedder's solo career, a copy of a former pearl jam song, or a great verse with a rushed chorus.
The only song which feels unique, not rushed, and like pearl jam was "My Father's Son".  Which has a rough beginning in which Vedder's lyrics are emphasized.  It then switches to a smooth refrain giving good variance in the song which Pearl Jam has done  a lot with in the past.
Most of the songs on this album however, just felt as if they were pushed for time so it became uncreative and poppy.  For instance "Sirens" which has great guitar chord riff in the beginning, and once Eddie Vedder's voice appeared it sounded nothing like what they had done before.  Once they got to the chorus it became as I said a uncreative and poppy a radio tune.  The same with "Infallible"which had a great beginning incorporating electronic elements for a great smooth funk tune, but alas the chorus was just instrumentation just following Eddie Vedder's lead and nothing new.
Many songs sounded as if they were just songs off a Vedder solo album and nothing like Pearl Jam.  There was the song "Sleeping With Myself" which was a cover of Vedder's.  The song however with added instrumentation lost its mysterious feel.  "Yellow Moon" another acoustic which sounds similar to Eddie's song "Hard Sun".  The final song "Future Days" another sweet acoustic ballad which could only be created by Eddie Vedder, not Pearl Jam.
There was also a few songs which were Pearl Jam copying old songs such as the single "Mind Your Manners" which had a great intensity all around including Mike Mcready's guitar and Vedder's voice, however it was just "Spin the Black Circle" and "Brain of J" with less experimental guitar.  The same with "Lightning Bolt" which was just a remake of "Unthought Known.".
My rating for this album  would probably be a 6 out of ten.  The album is a decent rock album, but not worthy of being considered Pearl Jam material,

Baldness, a Problem Plaguing Men all over the World

Over the past century men have become increasingly self conscious about their hair. The issue of baldness has begun to effect younger and younger men as they begin to age. Until recently this seemed like a problem that would plague a man's entire life. However, according to BBC News a team of scientist from the U.K. and the U.S. discovered how to create new hairs from tissue samples. They did this by graphing human skin with 3D spheroids from seven different people onto the back of mice. After six weeks five of the seven skin graphs had hair follicles on them. Of course this idea still needs some work, but given a year or two men all over the world could have their beloved hair back.

Apple Runs Into Problems With New Phones

Apple Runs Into Problems With New Phones
by Mitchell Jorgensen

Apple is cutting its orders for the new iPhone 5c because of weak demand. Last month Apple released the iPhone 5c for a lower price than the higher priced iPhone 5s. The 5c doesn't have the new cool features that the 5s has such as the fingerprint scanner and the upgraded camera, but it still only costs $100 less than the 5s. in other countries they have to pay the full price of the phone, in China they have to pay $800 for the 5s and $750 for the 5c.

The good news for Apple though is  that the 5s sold more than they were expecting which will carry them through the next few quarters. Apple's phones are obviously not competitive in the low cost smartphone universe but that's alright with their executives because it gives them more capacity to create the most profitable iPhone.

Who would actually get bit by a Krokidile?

Ok my title is a little bit misleading my blog to day will be about a drug thats been sweeping the nation it goes by the name "Krokidile" its a very cheap knockoff off heroin for about a quarter of the price, but the main reason why this drug is so dangerous is that it melts your skin until it is just bone! According to news reports chronic users of Krokidile have a life expectancy of 2 years, which leads me to think why in the hell would anybody think about doing this if they know the side effects? Below is a link to a My problem with this is knowing whats going in your body, this is not a case of people just trying this new thing and it happens to eat your skin away til its bone, its gained popularity moving state to state causing more of an epidemic that is ruining lives. I don't even wanna post pictures on the blog because its so disgusting and repulsing to see the bone basically the only thing that's left so if your daring enough look at the pictures of the aftermath at your own risk. It's very sad to think how desperate some users are on there addictions, i'm not much of a "We have to change America person" but this is getting ridiculous that where dealing with an epidemic that could be solved by common sense at the most. Here is another link of a woman who is an admitted drug addict from joliet Illinois who has been using the drug fro about a year now and she tells you her thoughts.. In closing i hope the videos and my blog give you a better understanding of how we can't stop the spread of this horrible drug it can potentially effect a ton of lives seeing as Russia has over 1million admitted users that are fighting for there lives, something so easy to avoid should not become a epidemic the internet is showing skyrocketed searches in how to make the drug in America which is sickening just to know that theirs people out there willing to put themselves in danger and others as well. The DEA still is not acknowledging the drug even after multiple reports so hopefully that changes in the next couple weeks. Below is the links to the Videoshttp://newsfeed.time.com/2013/10/16/watch-krokodil-addicts-discuss-the-flesh-eating-drugs-horrifying-effects/http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/16/health/krokodil-zombie-drug/
Flesh-eating 'zombie' drug 'kills you from the inside out'(CNN.com)
http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/16/health/krokodil-zombie-drug/?iref=obinsite

While I was on CNN.com, I came across an article that was near my home town, Oswego, Illinois. Twenty minutes outside of Oswego is Joliet, Illinois. In the past week there have been five cases of the new zombie drug, krokodil. This is a flesh eating disease that kills humans from the inside out. This drug causes serious damage to the soft tissue and veins, and can give a person gangrene or necrosis. The soft tissue damage seems to happen around the injection site. The drug clumps in the veins and doesn't completely dissolve in the blood. The drug originally came from Russia and is illegally getting into the USA. First we saw it arise in Utah and New Mexico, and then most recently it spread to Joliet, Illinois. The drug is a knock-off of Heroine and is 1/3 of the price of actual Heroine. Its key ingredients are gasoline, paint thinner, and bathroom cleaner. "In Russia, users frequently are young people with relatively short drug histories, the study found. Medical help is often only sought after users are in the late stages of their addiction and end up with severe mutilations, rotting gums, bone infections, decayed structure of the jaw and facial bones, sores and ulcers on the forehead and skull as well as rotting ears, noses and lips and liver and kidney problems."(CNN.com) My thoughts on this topic are very concerning because, living just twenty minutes away from the hospital it shows how real and close these dangers are. This is just the beginning of the drug. With many people not being able to afford their heroin addiction this drug will spread knowing that it is the third of the price.

Didier decision to leave Chelsea is what fans called the end of chelsea.

Didier Drogba decision to leave Chelsea is what fans called the a great lost to Chelsea soccer team.Between 2006-2010 Drogba was the best striker  on the planet. Drogba won many cups with Chelsea including three premiership cups and the one champion league cup in 2012.
Didier established himself as a star on Chelsea team by scoring in every single final he plays for the blue. For this reason many people especially BBC referred to him as the biggest man for the biggest occasion. Didier won the champion league with Chelsea  by scoring a late dramatic equalizer in the 88 minutes and finally scored the winding penalty for Chelsea to lift up the cup for the very first time in their history.

Didier Drogba was voted by Chelsea fans as the club best player. Due to his  massive performance for the club in all competitions both in the champion league and the premier league. He scores many goals that people do not expected him to score such a goal. His last minutes goal against Manchester United in the English FA cup final will be remember by fans decades to come.

The Chelsea legend enjoyed 8 years of playing for the London club where he won many tittles as a professional soccer player including Africa best player of the year. At the same time, he was voted as the best striker in the premiership and the champion league.

Drogba decision to leave Chelsea in 2012 brought lot of  criticisms to him by fans around the world. He begins a free man right after the champion league final in Germany. Many fans expected him to stay  on the team for another more season or even  retire on the team. On the other hand , Drogba decided to join a Chinese club for financial purposes which made fans around  the world really angry and sad.

Few months from now Didier will be a free man again. The question that many soccer lovers are asking including Chelsea fans is that where will be  Drogba next destination in his career. If Didier returns to Chelsea he will be one of the best paying player in the world. There are many clubs also willing to get Didier signature, but only next year will tell where the Chelsea legend will be playing his game.

How a Movie Made a Lot out of Nothing

Don't Let Go

One of the most recent films that I went to see this month was the movie Gravity. At first I was very skeptical about this movie and thought that there was no way a director could make a full length movie about a woman getting stuck in space. Oh, how I as wrong. There wasn't a second of the film that i found to be dull or to drag on. The way that the director made the film was a work of art. There are not many who would be able to create such a thrill-ride of a movie with so little plot. Don't get me wrong, although the plot its self sounds boring if you look at it from the outside; the reality of it is much, much sweeter. There is also the fact at the performances in this movie.I was never much of a Sandra Bullock fan, who plays the main character, but this movie changed that (or at least for the time being). The main character is so easy to believe and Bullock really brings the character to life. George Clooney is also just as spectacular as Bullock is in this movie. One could almost say their performances are out of this world.
Another aspect of the film that makes it great is how believable it is. The realism that the director brings to the table is spectacular. One could almost see themselves in the astronauts shoes, or boots in this case. Everything from the emotions that the characters go through to the wreckage; its all so well done and the fact that its all done with just the premise of people being stuck is space just amazes me. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes to be on the edge of their seat.

Problematic Protein

                             Problematic Protein

There is a new trend among the younger society that involves the use of synthetic protein, or more commonly whey, soy and protein involving Sucralose, an artificial sweetener. The goal of these three manufactured substances is to build muscle. Part of the controversy of the health of whey protein lies in what it is made of. The products have been around for a good number of years now, but recentness doctors and fitness trainers have concluded just how dangerous the substance is. Whey protein uses manufactured materials to enhance the quality of your workout. What users don't realize is that your body already contains the perfect level of protein specific to your needs, and that too much can actually deteriorate your immune system causing you to get sick. Part of the controversy of the health of whey protein lies in what it is made of. Take for instance whey protein, a byproduct of cheese, actually made from curdled cow's milk. Not only this, but protein and whey concentrate alike contain Aspartame, a chemical drug that the human liver cannot easily break down. What also makes the enhancement scary is that with too much of it, your kidney's could go into failure. Whey protein and concentrate allow more liquid to pass though your body and thus urination and stress on the functions of the kidneys is more frequent.

I personally feel that this substance is a gateway to other weight loss drugs that could go as far as to cause physical appearance disorders such as Bigorexia. This is a  disorder in which the individual believes  they are not muscular enough. Not only this, but excess of the protein doesn't do anything to help your body, and rather can work against it leading to digestive problems and constipation.

There was much controversy a few years back about  whether or not to ban the steroid. I say steroid, because that is exactly what it is, fake enhancement that enables better performance. It is no different than using a lead baseball bat to better control your home run hits for baseball. It's cheating, and it's wrong, not to mention the lack of accomplishment you feel as well, knowing that  you didn't accomplish your athletic goal or muscle goal on your own. What's more sad is that society tells us that this is what we need to look like to be successful, and to be somebody in the athletic world. Its demeaning, unfortunate and discouraging, and I wish it would stop.

what does soccer means to us as people?

What does Soccer means for us as people ? For many part of the world soccer served as a modifier symbol to unite people, it also  creates more revenues  and happiness for  people who invest in it. Soccer served as a modifier symbol to unite people of all kinds for example when Chelsea and Manchester United are playing you can see all the fans of both side showing  their support and love for their team. Fans of the same club can come together and discuss about the match and their best players on the team.Your can see every body holding hands together dancing, sinking, and celebrating  for their club. When Liberia and Ghana were playing in an international fixture a Liberian striker scored a goal you would hear the crow showing their passion for the game. When Spain won the 2010 world cup in South Africa the people of Spain lined up on the street of Madrid for the entire night celebrating their victory against Holland which brought many people together and unite them that very night. On the other, when the civil war was in Liberia for 14 years, one of the legends of the game George Weah used the symbol of the game though the United Nations to bring the Liberians people together. George Weah used the game as a possible means between the Government forces and rebels to disarmed the both side. The government forces and the rebels who combated for many years where able to come together and play though the love of soccer. Weah also used soccer to encourage the people of Liberia to forget about the past and see how best they can once come together  as they used to be in the past. Today if you travel in many parts of the African countries you will notice how much passion the youths have for soccer on the continent of Africa. Though soccer the youths of the continent are united because they care for each other though the game of soccer and want to see themselves where the game is hardly competitive in Europe.  One the reasons that makes soccer  so important to us as people is that it creates more revenues for people around the world. Soccer have moved beyond traditional revenue television right and corporate sponsorship all around the world with investors putting more money behind the game of soccer. In fact, club team like Chelsea can afford to sell 30,000 of it uniforms in London and other parts of the world that will bring more revenues to the club and the city. Another good example  that we saw in  2003 was that when David Beckham left from Manchester to Real Madrid, he has no equal when it comes to selling the club shirts to teenagers around the world especially in Africa. We have seen how much money clubs have spent or received over the years. The Russian billionaire Roman Abramvich has spent close to 200 millions since taking over as Chelsea owner buying many of the best players on the planet. We also witnessed the Europeans soccer transfer where many of the teams in Europe spent million of dollars to strengthen their teams for the new season. Teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Real Madrid  were able to spent close to 300 millions on players which make other clubs rich in the process. In fact, if clubs buy new players it brings more joys to the fans who are supporters of that team. It also makes the fans  to spend more money  to see their new players on the soccer pitch playing in his new shirt.
