Halloween has come and gone but the buzz of an over whelmingly disgusting costume has caught social networkers eye. April Lynch a woman from Michigan posted a picture on popular sites like imstagram and twitter with a big smile on her face proudly showing off her costume as Boston Marathon bombing victim. She was costumed in blood spattered clothing with blood covering parts of her body.
The Twitter newsfeed blew up with hateful comments towards the woman. People were outraged by her lack of sensitivity towards the terrible tradgedy. Some of the most popular tweets were..
@SomeSKANKinMI You should be ashamed, my mother lost both her legs and I almost died in the marathon. You need a filter.
Not only is she recieving hateful tweets but some have leaked her address, phone number, and racy pictures of the woman. She gets daily death threats and has even lost her job because of the picture. Her social netowrking sites have been deactivated resulting from the pictures. She told interviewers she made a mistake but she is not a bad person.
I think it's safe to say she learned her lesson.
Happy Halloween April
I think what happened in marathon is a very sad story for the entire nation especially for people who lost their family members in the process. So it is never a good idea for someone to joke about it.In fact, it makes the victims feel bad about their lives
ReplyDeleteApril did take it too far. Her costume makes a joke out of the whole Boston Marathon Bombing. It was completely insensitive to the families who lost loved ones or were seriously injured that day. However, there was no need for someone to release her address or phone number. All that would do would escalate the problem and put April's life in danger. She did admit to making a mistake, and it cost her her job. There is nothing to gain from people escalating the problem anymore.
ReplyDeleteShe definitely took it too far. The marathon bombings was a serious and sad situation and should never be joked about. It's very disrespectful to make fun of a situation that ruined the lives of a lot of people and ended the lives of others. The person who posted this made a mistake by letting people know her address and phone number. To me it just sounds like someone wanting to cause problems.
