Socks and Slides, a Midwest Epidemic

Wearing socks with slides has quickly become one of the biggest fashion trends in the midwest. What once began as an athlete only footwear has spread to accompany millions of teenage feet. Its popularity has partly to do with the comfort it provides to the human foot, as well as the desiring style it adds to a teenagers fashion statement. Socks and Slides have become so popular in fact that major footwear companies such as Nike and Adidas are now advertising this style, furthermore, Nike now has t-shirts which promote the idea.

However, not everyone is enthralled with this ever growing fashion trend. According to Nike Talk threads some people think that socks with slides looks tacky and uneducated, they argue that slides were made to be worn with out socks. They went as far as to say that if you were going to wear socks with slides than you might as well just wear shoes.

Nonetheless, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, some people love socks and slides and others hate it. In the end everyone is entitled to their own opinion and fashion trend. Socks and slides will eventually, like every other trend, die out and we as a society will no longer be faced with this problem. Who knows, the next fashion trend might as well be worse.
