Now as not only a huge comic reader, but a huge dc comics fan I was also outraged at first. I mean why Ben Affleck? There are many great actors out there who are way more qualified for the intense, emotional role of batman, but not the pretty boy Affleck.
Then I thought wait, what about Doug Macray. Ben Affleck's
character in the 2010 movie The Town. Doug Macray was a smooth yet,
intense character who fought for what he believed in. There's also
his last role in spandex as Daredevil, the movie of course was a
flop, but that didn't stop Ben from doing an awesome job bringing
Daredevil to big screen. This role showed how well he can switch
from a smooth alter ego to an intense, dark, and very athletic role
as a masked superhero.
So I have high hopes for the coming superman batman movie with Henry Cavill as superman and the great Zach Snyder directing it should be a great thrill ride. I know I will be going to the midnight release and enjoying every second of the movie, and now that Ben Affleck is going to be Batman, well, I just might like it more.
I was too afraid when I first heard about Ben Affleck been the new batman but I agree with the fact that you think now we might get to see a more dark and athletic batman. That's what most excited about even though the Christopher Nolan batman was great but it's time to move on and start a new chapter. Also I feel like the Ben Affleck batman against Henry Cavill superman might be interesting since they have that athletic super hero and dark twist to them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of any superman movies, they've just never been my cup of tea, but I absolutely adore the Dark Knight trilogy. So as you can imagine, its really hard for me to picture anyone other than Christian Bale play the caped crusader. Although there were many actors that took on the role before him, he's the only one who I can picture. I'm definitely a fan of Affleck, Argo was phenomenal, but the fact that he has already played a superhero kind of throws me off too. Its just weird seeing an actor play two different superheroes in my opinion. But, I guess we will have to wait and see how he does.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of some of the Superman movies, but I think that the Dark Knight trilogy is much better. I find it very hard to see anybody but Christian Bale play Batman since the last couple of movies have been so good. I don't think that Affleck will be able to replace him because he is already the face of superman and I do not think that he will be able to be the face of another super hero as well. I also don't like that they will have to start a new series because you can't just change who plays Batman in the middle of a series. I hypothesize that Affleck will not be as good of a Batman as Christian Bale, but we will have to see.

I feel that Ben Affleck will step up to the plate and put on an amazing performance. As for Superman, well I have never really been a fan of any of the movies so in all reality I dont care, but i predict this movie will be amazing.
